#252 Lumberjack & Nancy.

Like I said yesterday, the Loblolly Festival is coming soon and we at Laurel Main Street are in high gear getting ready for it and promoting. Today I finished the flier design:
And Ben dressed up like a lumberjack (which simply means wearing flannel for him) for some funny promos we’re making for YouTube:

Incidentally, Nancy is in town this week and she stopped by. We were the best of friends in high school, hardcore beach lovers who were inseparable except during school hours because she was a city kid and I was a county girl. We met in elementary school at church camp where we both sustained injuries — she, a scary spider bite and me, a knot on my head. We called ourselves the Lump Sisters and remained best friends until high school was over. After graduation, she moved away to college and we sort of lost touch. After I met Ben and called to tell her about him, it turns out she knew him in childhood before he moved to North Carolina and had even mentioned it to me when she had a little 7th grader crush on him. I vaguely remembered that conversation, but I’ve always loved the coincidence. The last time I saw her was at my wedding in 2008, so it’s been a while. It’s so good to see an old friend, isn’t it?
Tonight in my kitchen.
