#943 Rainy Day Chili.

The rain set in this morning and didn’t let up all day, which kept the temperatures in the 70s. That’s a miracle for Mississippi summertime. It’s so lame that it made us feel like it was fall, but really it doesn’t take much to give us the fall fever. Ben got out his propane burner and the big black cast iron kettle that came with the house (thanks, Mrs. Mary Lynn!) and made THE greatest chili on earth out there in the carport. It was divine.

Even better was that I didn’t have to clean up anything and it didn’t dirty the kitchen. Sweet!

P.S.
Baker was horrified by the thunder and hid out behind his makeshift storm wall all day.

But he got over it by dinnertime and gave me some love.
