#1,475 Wake Up.

After driving through rainy weather all the way home today:

I was really excited to see these two fat dogs waiting for me.

After a short walk around the block in the rain, I went to see mama and daddy for a bit then came back to Josh and Emily and Jim and Mal’s house after dinner. And we all wound up going to see The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which was a really lovely little movie.

Even if it had been bad, I would’ve loved it for 2 reasons—first, Wake Up (currently my favorite song in the world) plays when Walter decides to throw caution to the wind for the first time in his life and jump on a plane bound for Greenland.

No one was in the theatre besides our little crew, so we sang it out loud like we were alone. This song always gives me chills, particularly when it’s in theatre stereo sound.

2nd—we couldn’t stop laughing at the drunken helicopter pilot who reminded us for the world of Jesse in about 15 years—an enormous, curly haired, bomber jacket wearing, bearded, karoaking, helicopter pilot. That’s about right. Minus the drunken part.

I mean really, listen to that song and feel how awesome it is.

Tomorrow we leave for the annual New Year’s trip with the youth. I’ve got the 2013 blog roundup ready. I hope I’ve not bored you too badly. I’m just scrapbooking the only way I know how. And I’m glad you’re here for it.
