#2,396 Cooking in the Rain + Comeback.
When we left work late this afternoon, the clouds became dark and close and soon, rumbles of thunder shook the house and rain was tapping on our windows again. Lately, it’s been happening every afternoon, a welcome respite from the insane heat. But this time, the storm found me at home making meatballs for dinner tomorrow night. And doesn’t it feel wonderful to be at home, barefoot, in the rain, with the Decemberists on the radio and fresh parsley on your fingers?
By 6:00 the storm had cleared and at 8:00 we headed downtown to the ‘Comeback Party.’ Our friend Mike, just home from a few months in the hospital, officially turned on the new lights on the 500 block of Central Avenue where his office has been for many many years. It was a comeback celebration for Laurel, for Mike, for the lights.
It’s a fun time to be here, part of this town’s story.

I’m sending an enormous thanks to Country Living for their gracious mention today!
