Hopey’s parents are moving to Texas and tonight was the going away party for her daddy, Ted, who’s flying out to start work tomorrow. I have great memories spent with my best friend’s family, like the time they took us to New Orleans to see Aida at the Saenger Theatre in 12th grade, the hurricane party we had at their house when Hope and I made a huge pot of potato soup, the breakfast for dinner get togethers when a guitar came out once or twice, waiting for her arrival home from the Philippines after the longest 10 months of my life, then staying at the Rogers-Green house till the wee hours of the morning to help her parents clean up she and Jonathan’s (throw down fun) wedding reception. When Mr. Ted met Ben in 2005, they fell in love. No, really.

In an effort to count my blessings, this journal has documented only the good things that happen on each and every day of my life since January 1, 2010. I am a wife, a daughter, a homebody, a bubble bath lover, a book reader, a sentimental, stressed out, slightly obsessive southerner. Welcome!
