A Day at Mississippi Made
The day of MS Made is always one of our favorite times of the year because it's a day filled with creativity, community, and the simple joy of spending time in downtown Laurel. We thought it would be fun to walk you through what a “perfect day” might look like as you make the most of everything MS Made has to offer.

March in Laurel brings some of the sweetest weather—there’s still a little chill in the air, but the sunshine starts to linger a bit longer, and you can feel spring waking up around town. The best way to start the day? A warm cup of coffee and breakfast downtown. With several great coffee spots just steps away, it’s the perfect excuse to slow down, ease into the morning, and get ready for a full day ahead.

After coffee, it’s time to stroll over to the Laurel Mercantile lawn and spend the morning exploring MS Made. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and arriving early is a great way to beat the crowd and take your time browsing. With nearly 50 vendors from all across Mississippi, there’s something special waiting at every booth — handmade goods, artwork, food, and so much more.

MS Made began as a way to celebrate Mississippi makers and the incredible creativity found across our state, and that spirit is felt everywhere you turn. Take your time wandering, ask questions, and get to know the vendors — they love sharing the stories behind what they’ve created, and those conversations are often what make the day most memorable.
When lunchtime rolls around, downtown Laurel has plenty of options just a short walk away. Whether you’re craving Italian, fresh soups and sandwiches, Louisiana-inspired flavors, or classic Southern comfort food, you’ll find something that fits the moment. After lunch, take a little extra time to explore the other downtown shops too — from art galleries and plant shops to clothing boutiques and more, there’s always something new to discover.

Then make your way back to MS Made for one more round. The afternoon has its own kind of energy — makers wrapping up the day, end-of-event specials, and shoppers making those final decisions on the pieces they just can’t leave behind. You might run into a few furry friends, make some new ones of your own, or simply enjoy soaking in the atmosphere. Be sure to stop by the Mercantile tent on the lawn if you need information about the day, and don’t forget a photo at the famous blue truck, usually dressed up with balloons and ready for memories. And of course, grab an MS Made tee or tote so you can take a little piece of the day home with you.

As the afternoon winds down, take one last slow stroll through downtown, maybe pause at the art park or sit by the fountain if the weather’s nice. MS Made is more than just a market; it’s a day to slow down, connect, and celebrate the makers and community that make Mississippi so special. We hope you’ll come spend the day with us!
