The hot summer sun gives south Mississippi a break, high school football season begins, and some of our most popular Downtown events make this time of the year even more special. Here's a few events to look forward to this season in 2022!
SEPTEMBER
September 3 — Mississippi Made
Laurel Mercantile Co. is proud to host Mississippi Made on September 3, 2022, from 9 am to 3 pm. Mississippi Made is a vendor market featuring artisans and makers from across the state. The event is held at the Mercantile Yard at 414 Front Street in Laurel, Mississippi. Vendors will showcase handmade ceramics, jewelry, local honey, wooden creations, hand-painted artwork, goat milk soaps, stained glass, and much more. Several vendors have made special appearances showcasing their craft on the hit HGTV show, Home Town.

Offered Select Fridays — Longleaf Tea Co. Tea and Tasting Tours
Tea drinkers and curious sippers can taste the different brews on Longleaf Tea's Tour and Tastings. Each tour and tasting includes a guided field excursion, a full Farmhouse tour, and conversation on the art and science of American tea farming. Each experience ends with a curated tasting of one or more of our seasonal teas.
OCTOBER
October 1 — Loblolly Festival
It's a local festival honoring Laurel's rich heritage as a sawmill town. Artisans from several states set up along the streets while live music can be heard all throughout downtown and the aroma of festival food fills the air. Be on the lookout for the annual Scarecrow Harvest Contest where businesses show off their creativity on the front door step!
NOVEMBER
November 6 — Christmas Open House in Downtown Laurel
On the first Sunday in November, explore downtown Laurel's shopping scene and get Christmas shopping marked off your list! There's plenty of sales to discover and fresh inventory that your family and dearest friends will love.

DECEMBER
TBA — Christmas Tree Lighting in Downtown
December 2 — Annual Sertoma Christmas Parade
Every year thousands flock to Mississippi’s largest Christmas parade, held right here in Downtown Laurel, MS traditionally on the first Saturday of December, but this year the parade will be at night!
December 3 — Pancake Day
There are specific days each year that leave us feeling like we really are living on a movie set. Our annual Pancake Day is one of those days. This beloved tradition dates back more than 60 years, and each year, on the first Saturday in December, everyone you've ever known your entire life gathers at the YWCO downtown and gets in line together to indulge in all you can eat, hot-off-the-griddle pancakes and sausage. Pancake Day also coincides with the anniversary of our shop, making the day even more special.
December 3- Mississippi Made on the mercantile lawn! 9 AM -3 PM, Laurel Mercantile Co. is proud to support American makers and local creators. Visit the Mississippi Made festival and support Mississippi's most talented artisans and craftsmen.
