June 3, 2022 — The Market on Court 2022 in Ellisville, MS

The Ellis Club is hosting Ellisville’s second annual farmer's market, The Market on Court every Friday in June from 4:00- 8:00p.m. Support local farmers and small businesses on Court Street in Downtown Ellisville, Mississippi and enjoy live music, kids entertainment, local food, and more. 

June 4, 2022 — Open Mic Night at Lee’s Coffee & Tea

Open Mic Night is a favorite local event since its start many years ago. Local musicians, poets, and artists of all sorts perform original material and covers for a laid-back, supportive audience. Anyone and everyone is encouraged to participate (as long as you keep everything family-friendly!) Admission is free, but grab a coffee and dinner while you're at it!

June 10-11, 2022 — Mini Golf at the Laurel-Jones County Library

The Laurel-Jones County Library presents Mini Golf at the Library. On Friday night from 6-9pm, adults (21+) can enjoy a round hora d'oeuvres, drinks and mini golf in the Library. On Saturday, bring the family to enjoy a round of mini golf for Family Day! Tickets are available here.

June 10, 2022 — Blues Bash at Lauren Rogers Museum of Art 

The artist line-up is unmatched, as is the barbecue! Locals set up picnic blankets, lawn chairs, and coolers along the oak-lined streets of Fifth Avenue that could rival a Saturday in The Grove on game day. If you're lucky, you can find a good porch swing to rest easy on with a few neighbors. Advance tickets are available here or you can buy them the day of the bash.

June 11, 2022 — Mississippi Made at Laurel Mercantile Co.

Laurel Mercantile Co. hosts ten Mississippi-based vendors for a chance to support Mississippi's best local makers. Located in the Mercantile Front Yard, vendors are diverse in subject and can be artists, ceramicists, homemade beekeepers and honey makers, organic dog treat creators, and so much more! Expect good food, coffee, and a community experience that will make your Home Town dreams come true. You never know who might make an appearance at Mississippi Made! 

June 11, 2022 — Live in Laurel Concert Series

A free concert series in downtown Laurel at Trustmark Art Park one Saturday per month from 3pm-6pm. Family-friendly! 

June 11, 2022 — Social on Short 7th 

Social on Short 7th is a curated market featuring local artisans, produce, storytellers, exhibits and demos. This event merges art with function, interweaving old traditions and new ideas. Vendors offer an array of original items including illustration, printmaking, pottery, glass, metal smiths, woodwork, jewelry and accessories, farm fresh goods and produce. June 16, 2022 — Educator Workshop: Art & Academics 

Lauren Rogers Museum of Art is hosting a workshop for educators will demonstrate the concept of art integration in education. Through hands-on projects and interactive lessons inspired by their very own museum collections, educators will gain an understanding of what art integration is, the benefits it provides, and how to implement an art integrated curriculum into their own practice. Learn more here!

June 23- July 14 — Downtown Thursday Farmers Market & Movie Night

The Thursday Farmers Market and Movie Nights are some of the most anticipated summer events in Laurel.  The Farmer’s Market is held on Magnolia Street in Downtown Laurel each Thursday in June from 5pm – 8pm.  Farmers, home cooks, and artisans come from all over Mississippi to bring you homegrown produce and handmade goodies.  Fresh bread, heirloom tomatoes and fresh squeezed blueberry lemonade are always local favorites.  Plus, admission to the Farmer’s Market and Downtown Movie Night is FREE.  

June 29, 2022 — Free Family Art | Wednesdays in June  

Join Lauren Rogers Museum of Art each week for unique hands-on art activities inspired by their collection and exhibitions! No reservations are needed for this free make-and-take art program for families.

Gaining inspiration from works of art in the Museum’s collection, drop-in and spend time sketching in the galleries. Join artist and LRMA Outreach Coordinator Kelly Rosa for a fun and informal directed drawing experience. Drawing prompts will change weekly. All supplies provided and all ages and experience levels are welcome. Cost is free!
