#1,004 Loblolly Commercial Shoot.
by Erin Napier
First of all, it was a perfect day for the bike. I didn’t feel like using my car today with such brisk weather. I went to work and ran my errands on the ole Schwinn and my day was enriched because of it. People wave at you and smile when they see you carrying a package in your bike basket, and that makes it feel sort of like riding a boat in the summertime. You know what I mean?
We’ve had fun in years past making the Loblolly Festival commercial. Ben accidentally offered to be the ‘mascot’ of sorts for our town’s annual festival for our native pine tree, and the Loblolly lumberjack was born. Every week someone stops him and asks if he’s the lumberjack because of the commercials that play nonstop the week of the festival on the local TV network.
It’s that time of year again. This time we roped a couple of our favorite downtown business owners into being actors for the afternoon. I think they secretly loved it.
It’s been a long time since I laughed until I cried.
