#1,138 False Spring.
I know it probably won’t last very long, but today was so incredibly beautiful and warm that I couldn’t stand to stay at work past lunch. I got everything done as quickly as I could and came home to be outside and then cook something springish for dinner. Springtime in Laurel is my absolute favorite (if my allergies cooperate) and I loved every second of pretending it was today. It made me want to ride my bike, to read outside, to open all the windows. I only had time to run with the pups to Euclid for a swim in their park fountain, sweep the old leaves out of the front porch, help Ben finish up his truck signs for the campaign, and then make a run to the store for dinner.
I even jumped the gun and put out my springtime garland and wreath. Cause it makes me happy.
We went to Grocery Depot, which was about 3 days ago still the beloved Corner Market. I was sad to see Corner Market go, but curious. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that absolutely nothing has changed except their prices are waaaaaaaay lower than any other grocery in town. You really HAVE to go.
We made the Cracker Barrel grilled chicken tender recipe (marinate in Zesty Italian dressing, honey, and lime juice for as long as you can), grilled sausage, roasted squash, zucchini, red peppers and onions, and just a plain butter and parmesan pasta for the 3 of us who aren’t low carb.
The only way it could’ve been better is if I’d been at the beach or at least beside a pool. It looks like tomorrow is going to be just as beautiful!
