#1,215 Rainy Day at Home.

I have a conflicted relationship with stormy weather.

1. I LOVE rainy days. At home, not at work or anywhere else.

2. I am TERRIFIED of severe weather.

I love the way home becomes the beacon of comfort and happiness when a storm is raging outside, but I don’t love when I hear the sound of a tree snapping and my house shaking. Happened today, couldn’t find the tree and decided it might’ve been lightening striking near our house. The dogs watched whatever it was, toward the bed and breakfast next door, and my hands were shaking for 30 minutes afterward.

When I woke up I knew a stormy day was coming because the sun never shined in our room. So I slept extra hard and hit the snooze a few times. I ran the dogs before the rain arrived and went to the studio to get my work done as quickly as possible because I’ve just gotta be at home when the weather gets scary. By noon I was home making brocolli cheese soup. Mitter Ben had lunch with me and wants you to know that nothing beats Barq’s in the spectrum of diet drinks.

The bathroom renovation is coming right along and I spent the rest of the afternoon and tonight cleaning up plaster dust. Because our electrician ran new wiring for the bathroom! Because it’s really happening!

Which aggrevated my sore throat from all this pollen. So I took a break with a chai latte. Have you ever had one? It’s a gingerbread cookie hot drink, essentially. Mmmmm….

On days like this I thank God about a hundred times that this is the life I get to have.

I think everyone should go home on rainy days.
