#1,352 My Fitness Pal + Do You Love Me?

Tonight Ben introduced me to this nifty little app called My Fitness Pal that he uses to keep up with what he eats and how much exercise he does and it calculates weight loss. I’ve been idly interested in exercising more and eating a little less, I wouldn’t call it “dieting” exactly, but he showed me how it works and I think it’s going to be an awesome visual aid of what I’m doing. Have you tried it? Today’s diary says I’ve eaten exactly enough and exercised exactly enough. Sounds good to me, since I didn’t really do anything special.

I’m not sure how to handle eating at local eateries without a nutritional listing, but I estimated on dinner for Tabella and I think it should be pretty close.

On the way home, we listened to one great song after the next (Layla, Under Pressure, Don’t Stop Believing, Tripping Billies), riding with the windows down in the ’71 Beetle, holler-singing as if it were the last time we’d ever get to.

True to form, Do You Love Me by Guster when played loudly enough makes me cry a little bit every single time—the happiest kind of cry. If I could get a do-over on the music for our wedding video, this would be it. It’s a song about being madly in love right away when you were young (21!), then everything becomes so regular as you grow up and get older but the love is still there, as much as it always was.

We were young, twenty one, all those years ago
In came a fascination, everything was out of control
Alive, untried, through thickets and through thorns
Out came a revelation, everything was out of control

Do you feel it?
Do you feel it now?
Cause we want it, but we don’t know how
Do you have it?
As much as anybody ever has.
I wanna wake you from your dream,
I wanna know just who you’re talking to when your singin’ in your sleep
I wanna find out what it means
Do you love me?

I got marbles in my mouth
A thousand words I wanna say but it’s impossible to spit em out
I can barely make a sound
Do you love me?

Now we’re fine, all right, but all those days are gone
We read our constellations, everything is under control
Now you’re tired, I’m tired
The TV sparks and glows
The news man gives information, everything is under control

Do you feel it?
Do you feel it now?
Cause we want it, but we don’t know how
Do you have it?
As much as anybody ever has.
I wanna wake you from your dream,
I wanna know just who you’re talking to when your singin’ in your sleep
I wanna find out what it means
Do you love me?
