#1,387 Grey Polish + Cake + Supper Club.
3 things were just really awesome about today.
Those things include:
The suggestion to try grey nail polish over on Cup of Jo prompted my purchase of and resulting love for Essie’s Chinchilly:
Mickey (a chef) and Julie (The Bake Shop) both told me they were impressed with the cake. Mickey ate two servings. And honestly, it’s my favorite cake ever. It really was very good, mostly because I followed the recipe and I’ve finally found out how to make my very own lightly sweet, fluffy, smooth Italian cream exactly like what I tasted on Adam and Lily’s wedding cake last summer. I never got over it. It tastes like eclair or cannoli cream and I haven’t tasted it again until I made it tonight.
It’s so easy! Pour 1 cup of whipping cream in the stand mixer, mix until stiff peaks form. Scrape into another bowl. In stand mixer, blend 8 oz. of mascarpone cheese, 2 tsp. vanilla, and 1/2 cup of powdered sugar (or more if you like it sweeter), and then fold together with the whipped cream. Apply generously to whatever you’re going to eat. Lick the knife/spatula/plate when finished. Try not to eat it all with a spoon. It is a garnish. A garnish that will make your butt big.
Then supper club was the best we’ve had in months over at the Webers. The group has expanded with the addition of 3 newborns and a 1 year old.
But that cream. Y’all.
It was good.
