Because of my job, I use email and Skype to talk to folks all around the world. Every now and then, clients become friends and our conversations turn from work to fun, and today I was lucky enough to have 2 of those conversations at the same time.

Piril is a current client who lives in London and is getting married in Turkey, and we’re working on a fully custom invitation suite for her wedding. One thing led to another and we were talking about Ben and I planning our trip to Italy, which she happens to be very familiar with. She and her fiance go there all the time since it’s a 2 hour trip for them—and she had all kinds of great suggestions for our trip.

And Jessica is a former client, whom we got to meet on our trip to Charleston a couple years ago, though she and Shawn are living in New York now. But today she told me they’re headed back south to Charleston! Hooray for closer friends! And grilled cheese sandwiches!

Anyway. It’s hard to wrap my brain around the fact that a girl in a tiny town in Mississippi can connect with people in New York and London as if time and distance are fluid, unimportant factors of friendships. Isn’t it kind of crazy living in the future?
