#2,211 Rick Bragg.
by Erin Napier
As I read my new Rick Bragg book into the wee hours of the morning, this story about New Orleans made my heart ache for a trip to the Crescent City.
Have you read this book? Is he not the most descriptive, talented writer you ever read? I know my mama is nodding her head as she reads this. You have to get this book if you are a good Southerner or if you only wish you were.
Also, Uncle Big and Jesse had the most fun scaring Lucy to death and getting her to shriek in terror/delight then chase her while making bear roars:
When we left I said,
“Night night, Lu. I love you!”
She said, “You coming back?” I said, “Yes!”
She said, “Big coming back?” I said, “Yes!”
She said, “For tickles.” And then she held up her bear claws.
She’s one cool little girl, y’all.

I am a wife, a daughter, a homebody, a bubble bath lover, a book reader, a sentimental, stressed out, slightly obsessive southerner. Welcome!
