#2,326 Breakfast + Lyle.

A couple days ago we got a text from BJ Barham, Ben’s old high school buddy from North Carolina who has made a heck of a career touring the world with his alt-country band, American Aquarium. He played a show in New Orleans last night and stopped in Laurel for breakfast on our porch en route to Nashville.

We spent the morning talking about their high school glory days, the show, Laurel, and the future for BJ and his band. He’s gotten big news in recent months, with something huge on the horizon. There’s a good chance that by this time next year, you’ll know his name and have his record. It’s so great to see old friends sometimes, isn’t it?
And tonight, Lucy snuggled up on the couch to watch Lyle, Lyle Crocodile with me.

I’ve been looking forward to this since she was born, truly. It was my very favorite cartoon as a child and I was so romanced by the house on east 88th street, I know that it forever warped me in regards to NYC and my lifelong love for it. And primitive architectural illustrations.
