#2,329 Mama’s Day + Cleanup.
We had a huge spread for Mother’s Day lunch at Jim’s parents’ house after church, and I tried my best to restrain myself from the pans of dressing, fried chicken, and cherry pie… with dismal results. It was so delicious, and therefore, worth skipping supper for.
I got to share it with my little mama, my tiny twin, our cheering section, who gave me my tender heart and a level head, who taught me how to make a house a home by filling it with our family’s history, who loves us all so well and counts Ben just like he were her own, who will always watch my favorite old movies with me, and is up for a lunch date at Honeybaked Ham or a tennis match with her friends at the last second, I love you. Thank you for loving us.
After lunch we took a super quick cat nap before tackling the disaster areas at Ben’s woodshop and at the Lucky Luxe studio. We’ve been neglecting them for a couple months with so many other priorities to take care of, and after 6 good hours, we’ve got them in tip top shape. I haven’t seen Ben’s progress in the shop, but at LL I hauled out heaps upon heaps of cardboard boxes and junk that was just cluttering our shipping and work spaces.
It feels 100% better in there.
My back, however, is ready for a break.
