#2,483 Indian Summer.

It’s definitely October…

But in south Mississippi, it’s still topping out at 90+ degrees every afternoon. The blue skies and cool breezes make it feel like the best summer weather imaginable, which made my long walk perfect.

But man. I’m so jealous of you northerners with your reds and golds and fires in your hearth. I hope ours is coming!

P.S.

Ben came home from Cruisin’ the Coast early this morning and I was so happy to hear the rumble of his truck in the driveway. I woke up around 2 am last night, a little startled by the empty side of the bed. Right by my lonesome, I thought of how much I value him for his masculinity. The cuff links and ties, the muddy work boots, the bacon in the fridge, the Castrol in the garage, the Barbasol in the cabinet. My opposite in so many ways. The blue sky to my green grass. The salty to my sweet. I appreciate being under the watchful care of a good man. And I miss it when he’s out of town. Call me old fashioned.
