#2,484 Fancy Photos + Canadian Thanksgiving.

We spent the day with an incredibly talented team of photographers and producers from Los Angeles and Atlanta today taking more promotional photos for marketing of the show later on. I’ve always felt so awkward when having my photo taken, but this team of pros made it feel natural and fun and it can’t be overstated how much I appreciated that. None of this seems like real life to me. At all. I don’t think it ever will.

And when we wrapped, it was time to head over to Angie’s house (our showrunner) for dinner. In 3 weeks we’ll say goodbye to our amazing film crew who have spent 6 months away from their families and their homes in Canada and LA and NYC and Florida and Louisiana and they’ve loved Laurel just as if they’d been here their whole lives. They’ve been more than our coworkers, but our neighbors and family. Today our Canucks are away from home on their Thanksgiving, so we celebrated together with a Mississippi feast. It was storybook perfect, right down to the 60 degree nightfall and the twinkle lights that illuminated our fried turkey (thanks to Jim!), dressing, casseroles, and homemade pies.

We wore our Canadian tuxedoes for the occasion:

I’ll never be able to give enough thanks for what they’ve done for our town and our state. God is so good. All the time.
