#2,488 First Promo Day.
Today was our first-ever marketing and promotional photo day for HGTV, and that’s one of those rare milestones in our suddenly very unusual career that I don’t want to ever forget or take for granted. We were welcomed by a huge crew of talented people (there were tons of folks but Heather, Stewart, Santos, Alan, Tuck, Mennelle, Todd, Zack, and Caleb went out of their way to make us feel at home) who made us feel comfortable in front of the cameras, which isn’t as simple as you might think.
The hardest thing I’ve ever had to do is dance for a solid hour in front of a camera. I’ve never felt stage fright before. This nearly crippled me with nerves… But I grinned and got through it, back to the fun parts–the talking about designing and our relationship. I stepped waaaaay outside my comfort zone today and I’m proud to say I made it through!
I’m amazed that we get to do this. I’m amazed that Zack Arias has been our photographer! I have photographer friends who have idolized his work forever and have driven hours to see him speak, and I was humbled to have his ear for advice on how he handles criticism (I have gotten so much gumption from this article, he sent me this one).
God has been so good to us. I’ll never stop singing His praises for the people He keeps putting in our path, for the hedge of protection they’re each building around our hearts.
