#2,913 Christmas Eve Eve.
by Erin Napier
Tonight we went to Jim and Mallorie’s for a tiny little get together with our friends who only get to come home to Laurel a couple times a year and the Polaroids are my treasures of the night.
I can’t remember if I’ve told you or not, but Emily and I are due almost at the same exact time! She is one week ahead of me, but with their 3rd baby. I can’t wait to find out if they’ll get a girl or boy this time but they like the element of surprise. I’ve liked having one of my dearest friends along on the same journey as me–a friend to hold my hand as we jump into the swimming pool that she’s been swimming in all along. I don’t know how cold the water will be, but she assures me it’s going to be fun. I don’t know why my belly still doesn’t stick out much, but at 9 months pregnant I’m grateful to still be feeling great and mostly normal. Pregnancy has been nothing that I feared it would be and more lovely than my best expectations. Thanks be to God.

I’m an artist and he’s a craftsman and we help people moving to our town find and restore old houses on HGTV’s Home Town. In an effort to count my blessings, this journal has documented only the good things that happen on each and every day of my life since January 1, 2010. I am a wife, a daughter, a homebody, a bubble bath lover, a book reader, a sentimental, stressed out, slightly obsessive southerner. Welcome!
