#2,622 The Best Beignets.
by Erin Napier
I’ve been going to Cafe Du Monde since I was born, but it looked like an SEC game day this morning and we were so hungry, we opted for the oft ignored ‘New Orleans Famous Beignets’ place next door that I’ve always walked past but never been to…
And it was truly the best beignet I’ve ever tasted. Nothing like the heavy, doughy ones I’ve been eating all this time and now I feel like I’ve missed out my whole life. These beignets were flaky and crispy on the outside, light, fluffy and layered like croissant dough, with the perfect amount of powdered sugar rather than mountains of excess.
