This Magic Peach Cobbler recipe has been passed down from my Granny to my Mom to my sisters and me, and now to our children. Although my Granny and Mom are no longer here on this earth, their memory lives on through this peach cobbler. Now my daughters and I make this, and it is always a hit. — Jan Akright, Recipes & Stories: Volume 3

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of butter

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 cup of flour

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 3/4 cup of milk

  • 1 large can of peaches (drained)

  • 1/2 cup of sugar for toppings

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Melt the butter and pour into a 9x13 greased baking dish. Mix flour, sugar, and baking powder and then add milk and stir well. Pour mixture over melted butter. DO NOT STIR.

Add sliced peaches and sprinkle remaining sugar on top. Bake for 30 minutes or until the crust is brown. We suggest pairing it with vanilla ice cream!
