#2,144 Meridian Trip.
by Erin Napier
We had a meeting in Meridian today with the Mississippi Department of Tourism to make the plans for us to redesign the welcome center, but on the way we stopped for a blue plate special at Jean’s Restaurant, which Jim has been raving about for months. It was great soul food and SO cheap!
Then we were on to the meeting at the welcome center, which is really a gorgeous building even with some tired early 90s decor.

Afterward, we hit our favorite big flea market in search of one-of-a-kind finds for the Lucky Luxe and Scotsman stores that are launching NEXT WEDNESDAY! As in, NOVEMBER 11! SO SOON!!!! Click here and join the email list if you’d like to be the first to know when it’s live. We’re just so excited to finally open the doors!
And now, your daily lumberjack update: Even though his competition rallied and got tons of new votes today (eep!), Ben is still leading nationwide in the Duluth Trading Company Paul Bunyan search by a landslide because of you! YOU’RE HIS HERO, FRIEND! Please click here to keep voting each day until this thing is over. It means the world. Thank you!

I’m Erin Napier, co-owner of Laurel Mercantile Co. and Scotsman Co. with my husband, Ben. I’m an artist and he’s a craftsman and we help people moving to our town find and restore old houses on HGTV’s Home Town. In an effort to count my blessings, this journal has documented only the good things that happen on each and every day of my life since January 1, 2010. I am a wife, a daughter, a homebody, a bubble bath lover, a book reader, a sentimental, stressed out, slightly obsessive southerner. Welcome!
