#2,753 Ouida is Back.
by Erin Napier
A couple weeks ago, I pulled up at the Mercantile and when I tried to leave 30 minutes later, it just wouldn’t crank. It sounded like it wanted to, but I would turn the key and get nothing but a whine, never a crank. Ben has been experimenting, changing this and that in the engine, calling his dad for his opinion, then finally figuring out the solution would not be a $4,000 engine overhaul, but instead a $65 ignition module. 15 minutes after lifting the hood, she was running again. Today at lunch mama and I took her for a spin to PDI for burgers.

I’m Erin Napier, co-owner of Laurel Mercantile Co. and Scotsman Co. with my husband, Ben. I’m an artist and he’s a craftsman and we help people moving to our town find and restore old houses on HGTV’s Home Town. In an effort to count my blessings, this journal has documented only the good things that happen on each and every day of my life since January 1, 2010. I am a wife, a daughter, a homebody, a bubble bath lover, a book reader, a sentimental, stressed out, slightly obsessive southerner. Welcome!
