#2,659 Mimmo’s Friends.

Tonight we snuck away to Quitman, just the two of us, for one last totally indulgent meal before we get back on track with eating right and exercising tomorrow. It’s been a week of anything goes, and Mimmo’s garlic knots are at the top of our list of so good it’s bad foods:

After we had finished our meal and the restaurant was closing up for the night, the family a couple tables over asked if we would mind taking a picture before we go. They told us they were nervous to ask, which was so endearing we immediately gave them huge hugs because as y’all know–we aren’t anyone special. We are so very, very regular. I can’t explain how it makes my heart feel to meet people who are watching Home Town and tell us it’s good, important work we’re doing, showing the world what’s special about small town America.

Kim, who wasn’t wearing any makeup, took this photo instead of being in it with us, her husband Ken and daughter Kennedy. My makeup was gone and I didn’t care at all, I was just so grateful there are people who want to take a picture with us. Thank you, every single one of you, for watching.

See you Tuesday night!
