#422 Double Date Day.

So many fun things happened today, I’ll just let the pictures do most of the talking. It was such a beautiful day—the weather was a perfect example of what spring should be. It never got above 75, the breeze was blowing, we opened our windows. I didn’t sneeze.
The sweet camellias Ben brought home after work yesterday
We invited the Rasberrys and Patricks over for breakfast — beignets, fruit and sausage. Sadly, Mallorie’s job is lame and required that she work on a Saturday. She was sorely missed.

Boom.
Matter of fact, let’s zoom in on that.
I look “throwed away” as my mama would say, but that’s how I roll on Saturdays. And Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. It’s a perk of self-employment.
After brunch we headed to downtown Meridian for a Mardi Gras festival and gumbo cook-off.
Basset hound! IN A HAT!
As the day was winding down, we headed back home. On the way, we were talking about Lake Eddins—how growing up, my parents had a cabin there and that I still dream about it often. They sold the cabin in 1998, and I never went back. I very frequently dream about a lot of the places I went between the ages of 8 and 12. I wonder why that is? Anyway, Chad knew exactly how to get there and obliged my curiosity. I wanted so badly to just drive through those gates and see if my intuition could lead us to our old house there. I was giddy. Absolutely thrilled to be there again for the first time since I was a child. I was really dejected when absolutely no one would open the gate for us to get in. I’m hoping Ben and I can go there sometime soon so he can see a little bit of my childhood. It was a really fun place to go on the weekends with my family.
My spirits lifted when I found my favorite way to get a cavity on sale for 75% off at CVS.
This was one of those days I’ll always remember. Maybe just like those days I spent riding in boats and playing in the woods at Lake Eddins.
