Tonight some very extreme weather passed through our area and a massive mile-wide tornado destroyed a lot of Hattiesburg including the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi. Hattiesburg is the biggest city near us, 30 miles down the road. So many homes and businesses were lost, but so far I’ve not heard of any deaths. I’m thankful that the tornadoes missed Laurel, but I’m feeling very worried and heartbroken for our family and friends who live in Hattiesburg. If you are reading these words, please say a prayer for our neighbors down the road. The damage is very serious there. It’s hard to believe we were in this exact place just yesterday afternoon and the sun was shining:
