#1,425 Light My Fire.
by Erin Napier
We’re spending the night at Ben’s parents’ house in north Mississippi tonight to go to the Ole Miss game tomorrow, and because they live in a parsonage a few hours south they mostly treat this as their vacation home. Or “the farm” or something. You get what I’m saying. The heat is out but no problem–there’s an honest to goodness wood burning fireplace in the living room that’s hopefully going to hold out for a few hours and keep us warm while we sleep. That smell is in my top 5 favorites in the world.

I’m Erin Napier, co-owner of Laurel Mercantile Co. and Scotsman Co. with my husband, Ben. I’m an artist and he’s a craftsman and we help people moving to our town find and restore old houses on HGTV’s Home Town. In an effort to count my blessings, this journal has documented only the good things that happen on each and every day of my life since January 1, 2010. I am a wife, a daughter, a homebody, a bubble bath lover, a book reader, a sentimental, stressed out, slightly obsessive southerner. Welcome!
